Hey,
I work out in the late evenings( between 8 and 10), and I am still confused if I should drink the protein shake in the morning for breakfast, but that would be almost 11 hours before I work out... Or should I drink the protein shake after my workout in the evening and substitute my dinner with the shake??
Please help! I do eat protein with all my meals through out the day. I am just trying to find out what time is better to drink the shake.....

Hi everyone,
I am using this shake, and I really do like it. It makes a LOT, so I drink about 8 oz for breakfast, and then keep the rest in an insulated cup and drink it throughout the morning. I'm aiming for five small meals/day, and this shake gives me two of them. If you have a sensitive palate, the taste will be a struggle for you. My husband won't drink it; he's sensitive like that! I, on the other hand, have no problem with it. I do recommend berries because of their nutritional value, plus they seem to mask the other flavors well. Additionally, be sure to buy HIGH QUALITY protein powder and Green; otherwise, the stuff won't mix well at all. My ingredients cost about $100, but they should last quite awhile.

For Calories, lets just add up the ingredients (estimated):
2 cups organic berries: 120 cal
1 scoop whey protein: 110
1 tb mega green : 44
1 tb flax seed oil: 130
1 tb liquid aminos (I've seen everything from 0-100 in my search)
So, lets estimate the whole shake is about 400-450 calories. It sounds like a lot for women, but if it's all the right ingredients maybe that's okay - and Jackie looks great!!

Does anyone know how many calories are in the shake? And is it one serving or two? I have read a couple people ask these questions but have not seen a response. If I missed it .... please someone direct me to it.

Thanks!

HI, I am very interested in trying the protein shake. I am also trying to find out once drinking the shake what would be a good lunch and dinner? Also several people asked about calorie count with the shake. I am interested in this as well. I need to get into shape and start loosing the weight that keeps creeping up on me. I want to be healthy and this sounds like a good start. I also work third shift so time is of the essence. I find it difficult to get on a "normal " eating schedule because of my job.

Any suggestions will help.

Thanks.

Hi,

I just bought all the products to make this shake. Of course, I didn't read the products until after I bought, but I'm a vegetarian and looked used to drink whey protein shakes, but made sure that I bought one without the use of animals bones (hydrolyzed gelatin) and would prefer no eggs, but don't necessarily mind. Amino Acid Fuel has hydrolyzed gelatin... any other options besides excluding it? I've read that amino acid helps hair growth, etc. and I have PCOS, which thins hair, and I was hoping to use this for my health as well as benefit hair growth. Thanks for your help!

madonna - I applaud your pursuit of improving your health and fitness. In a situation like yours it's essential to work with your doctor to establish dietary guidelines for your specific situation. You need to get a handle on what your doctor believes is the proper daily protein intake for you.

For reference when you speak with your doctor - The protein shake in the above post will vary in amount of protein it provides depending on what brands of ingredients you make it with. Typically - a scoop of whey protein powder has between 15 & 25 grams of protein. The amino acids can add about 10 more grams (again more or less depending on the brand). Best of luck!

I have insulin dependent diabetes, due to being obese. My kidneys failed, I had a transplant four years ago, and I am concerned overloading my new kidney with protein. Is this shake okay for me? Please, fitness guardian?

I was just wondering if you are only suppose to drink the shake in the morning or is one that you can drink throughout the day as a snack shake?

When i dont have fresh berries i use frozen berries and dont need to add ice. But it doesnt blend very well so I added Simply Lemonade as liquid to get it to blend and it actually kinda cuts out the aftertaste of the Mega Green powder.
