Too Intense. More on Jackie Warner, Mimi and The Trainers at Skysport Spa
The third installment of “Workout” bored me with Jackie Warner and her lesbian lover Mimi squaring off against Jackie’s mother. It also disappointed me to watch Warner taking an obese woman through a first workout so intense it made her puke.
Exercise Intensity and Results
As personal trainers we face pressure to create results for clients in a reasonable amount of time. Exercise intensity is a key tool for accelerating physical change, but it’s a double edge sword. A seasoned fitness professional is able to ebb and flow a workout to maintain an intensity level appropriate to the clients capacity moment by moment.
When working with the unconditioned (especially the first time) I would think it’s common sense to be conservative with exercise intensity. An elite trainer billing $400.00 per session like Jackie Warner should have this skill. Is her client really going to see results faster by pushing her physical limits on the first workout? Especially Tess, who clearly states her health risks. (Video clip)
How To Lose Clients
If you want to get rid of clients fast just make them throw up during a workout. Unless they are being filmed by a T.V. crew they will most likely challenge your competence as a trainer once they recover. Warner lucked out that her client stuck it out…
An Accident Waiting To Happen
If an out of shape, obese person exercises at an intensity that causes them to vomit they are putting their health, wellbeing and even life in jeopardy. They are literally an accident waiting to happen. Perhaps Ms. Warner needs to consider her application of client training progression. It will save her from needing 911 on speed-dial and keep her liability insurance low.

Is Jackie at anytime in the near future creating a “workout” dvd or a series of dvds so those of us who cannot afford her costs nevermind the travel costs to work with her? It’s something to think about. I am sure they will sell like hot cakes!!! I mean just look at her! She’s absolutely beautiful and in phenomenal shape! Jackie, you go girl! Keep up the great show- your warmth on camera and amazing personality really make the show worth watching and not to mention the exercises alone- I suddenly find myself becoming more motivated which in my case is rather difficult! ( I hope you get to read this.)
Sincerely,
CT based fan!
I recall reading that Jackie Warner is going to be coming out with a book and possibly a video. If I catch wind of anything I’ll be sure to post.
Best regards,
CC
Hi Jackie,

ATL Fan
I think your amazing Jackie when I saw the show I was so thinking how much guts it takes to put it all out there like you have. I am not a lesbian but if I was I would be at your door because of the woman you want and the life you are trying to live you are a living testimony of true strength. Be who you are and succeed and boy are you HOT!. You have got me back to working out and you have inspired me to do the same. YOU ROCK!GO GIRL!
An exercise doesn’t have to be that intense to make an obese person vomit. Tess got over the sickness quickly and with her hard work and Jackie’s training, she looks fabulous! Everyone may not always see the point behind Jackie’s methods, but the fact remains…SHE GETS RESULTS AND CHANGES LIVES FOR THE BETTER! Rock on Jackie.
I just started watching the show by accident. I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer and have been extremely frustrated with the weight gain from my medications. I am also a business owner and must depend on myself for the success of my business. I am trying to lose 25 pounds before December 1st, in order to have more surgery. I saw the word “workout” on Bravo and checked it out. To my amazement it was actually a show with real people, and real problems. HELLO, I’m with ya, Anyway, I now love to watch the show, and look forward to future episodes. So for a brief moment, Jackie you are helping people you will never even be aware of. Good luck with the show, may happiness and life’s greatest blessings follow you!
Sincerely,
Darlene
jackie, im 63 and a pretty good size, 5′3” and 118 lbs but its accidental. i do not and can not work out because of my cfs and fibro….. i ache all over and every muscle in my body hurts, i have times i cannot lift my head off my pillow and then other i can get up, go shopping, ect. i can never run or go up stairs, dance, and my legs are so weak i think they may just disappear on me one day. what exercise could i do to help my legs and my body.,.. ive had this disease for 22 years and without my wonderful, supporting and loving husband i would have long ago given up and be dead by now…i truly loved your show, couldnt wait to watch it each week, you are beautiful and much to good for the spoiled lille girl who pouts and bites like a two year old child..,,, wow, who needs that.! you find your true love or someone you really care for and she cares for you. my husband and i have been married 45 years this sept 2 and i love him more every day..that i wish for everyone in the world……marlene,,,,, p.s. im a christian too and a baptist but i believe you live your life and ill live mine…god bless….
Unfortunately, smart, sexy, talented Jackie Warner and her lover Mimi couldn’t survive too long on Bravo’s stage, because of luck of positive drama and positive suspense… All this lesbian fight and promiscuous nature of gay relationship couldn’t keep public curiosity for too long. What is next? Another fight, another one night stand and short minutes of the conversation with fat lady, who is trying to avoid the surgery? Unfortunately this show is over… And gay community didn’t gain any good scores out of it.
Jackie and Mimi are back together and “promiscuous nature of gay relationship” had nothing to do with their issues.
Comparing being gay with being promiscuous is like comparing being straight with being monogamous. It’s the person, not whom they choose to love that makes a person monogamous.
And I can state that from experience…12 years ago I did what society wanted and waited on a husband hand and foot. He cheated. I became who I always should have been: a happy lesbian in a monogamous relationship.
But I would never put up with what Jackie does. Mimi is nuts
Hi Mikhail (previous poster and hater)
So, I guess you’re wrong about the show being a failure, seeing as how it’s been renewed for another season. Considering there were only 6 episodes and the final episode drew a million viewers, you can start eating crow any time now. And if you don’t care for the lesbian “lifestyle,” why are you watching? As for your idiotic statement about the “promiscuous nature of gay relationships…” what the hell are you talking about? What one night stands are you referring to? Were we watching the same show? Clearly, you’re an idiot. And, in case you’re not familiar with American reality TV (and I have a feeling you’re not familar with much about American culture), these shows are so heavily edited for maximum drama that you can’t believe everything you see. The producers will show a fraction of a conversation and/or only show fights and drama because that’s their idea of what would sell/make good TV/fulfill everyone’s delusions and fantasies of what a lesbian relationship is.
hey jackie i love the show i wish they would continue to show the reruns on bravo but hey i know the dvd is coming out soon cant wait !! U INSPIRE ME TO WANNA WORK OUT WHEN I WATCH THE SHOW .THANKS AND U SHOULD COME DO A SHOW IN NYC … KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HONEY, LESBIANS KICK ASS
I am what is considered obese and my trainer trains just like Jackie, my first few sessions I threw up. It is called being toxic and not having enough water intake. Doing the same workout with a half gallon of water in my body made a huge difference
i am a recovering double corneal transplant *which is why i went on welfare* who has become emotionally drained and hit rock bottom but also hit the top of the scale at 274 lbs. i need help and more than “you need to exercise and diet” could you help me? I am half Colombian and half Brasilian. i wouldn’t mind being your next project etc. anything. help me
I completely agree with Fitness Angel on this part of the article! If she had an accredited certification or degree she would know not to train her sedentary clients this way!

I love the show would like to see more of jackie working out with cleints. The whole Gay thing well did nothing for the show, again jackie is awesome and can bring more to the public than her personal life.having lived that lifestyle that is the last thing i want to see is a Beautiful Gay women dealing with a relationship issue, when she has put so much into her business.I like the other trainers that Jackie has assembled on her team.Bravo,Watching Jackie talk to her trainers is a plus, seeing Janice Dickinson makes me turn the T.V.Jackie is so professional with her business.Jackie I thought MoM was good and spoke from the heart.Thank You Bravo!for The Shows you provide.
Jackie,
I would love to meet you sometime in the future. I am married and have a daughter. Before I got married it did cross my mind numerous times the thought of being a lesbian. I didn’t think much of it . I live in an area where it is very conservative, Grand Rapids MI. I can’t see myself with anyone here. When I watched your show today for the first time about you and mimi with the whole communication problem, I honestly thought to myself I would love to be Mimi. Only because she’s with you. I do not know much about her character or what she believes or does I just look at her and see that she is so blessed to have you. Jackie I hope you read this and would contact me sometime in the future. I would be so blessed. I would send you a picture of me but I do not know your adress.
I forgot to say my age. I am 23 years old. You will find me under my maiden name DeMaagd
I stumbled on to this show for the first time last night. It must have been running a marathon because it was on for hours. I was once an american idol addict (and I normally don’t watch TV)…but thanks to Sanjaya, I have tuned out. That is how I came across the show. I guess everything does happen for a reason…now I’m hooked ; O P I was looking on-line about the show and ran across an article about Brian “Peeler”….CRAZY, he is from Salisbury. I live in China Grove (right next door) and went to South Rowan, he went to East Rowan. I think his story is awesome. You go boy! I really think Jackie can do sooooo much better than Mimi. She is a child. I don’t understand how someone that is so mature can deal w/ an adolesent. I think that eventually she will move on, but that the right person will have to come along before she lets go of her “comfortable” life w/ Mimi. Is it really that comfortable? I really can’t wait to see what the clothing line ends up like. Hopefully it will be available on-line. Thanks to Jackie and her trainers for being inspirations. I think their enthusiasm is an inspiration to all.
You don’t have to be obesse to through up on first training. I was not obesse when I first started running or working out. My body just was not used to that. I kept it up even if I did throw up. That’s just part of getting to the point where I’m at now. And I’m glad I didn’t wimp out just because I threw up.
