Definetly yes, bring the show on….it would be a huge disappointment to alot of viewers and fans.
Workout gave me the willpower to get off the couch and start making changes in my life. I finally got the recipe for her morning shake. And I’m definetly looking forward to checking out her clothing line. Everything about SkySport and all the trainers and of course the beautiful Jackie.
In the finale show Jackie brought up she might leave out her love life…Come on Jackie, thats what heats up the show. It puts the icing on the cake………………..
Looking forward to season three.

Definitely, bring that hot bodied show back for another season, or 2, or 3. I could never get to much of Jackie, Erika, Zen, & Brian. They are addictive to watch.

So what do you say Bravo? Are you going to announce Workout Season 3 soon?

How Jackie Warner Deals With Being Hot

May 23rd, 2007 by Fitness Guardian

JackieWarner.jpgQ&A with Jackie Warner compliments of the Boston Herald:

Q: Is it easier to lose weight in the summer?

A: “People tend to lose weight in the summer because their body temperature is more heated, they’re more active, they change their behavior. People walk more, they’re more athletic.”

Q: But do people tend to eat more things like margaritas and hot dogs because they think they’re exercising more?

A: “That’s a caveat, but I easily shed three to five pounds once the rainy season is over in L.A. — not because I change my workout, I just naturally stop eating.”

Q: What about working out in the heat? Bad idea?

A: “I think it’s great to work outdoors; I prefer it to a gym. It warms up your body temperature and muscles. I know it’s bad for your skin, but I love working out in the sun, too. Just slather on the sunscreen and make sure you drink a lot of water.”

Q: Any advice for folks going on vacation? How do you stick to a fitness plan?

A: “If you’re going on summer vacation, workout by hiking or walking. I mean, snorkeling is an intense workout. I used to only stay at hotels with gyms, but what a waste! I never used them. Sleep, swim, snorkel, have fun and keep it interesting.”

Q: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from being on reality TV?

A: “That all of this is on my shoulders, and while the Bravo executives may like me and take me out to dinner and value what I am doing, they don’t care if I win or lose. Sky Lab and Sky Sport and my fashion line, all of it is on me, and I have to make it work. You only have yourself to rely on, that’s what I learned.”

24 Fitness Tips From Jackie Warner’s Workout

May 21st, 2007 by Fitness Guardian

Jackie WarnerWe collected these 24 fitness tips from interviews, shows and quotes so you can get Jackie Warner’s advice all in one place…

On Nutrition…

1. Eat low glycemic, low refined sugar meals.

2. Her motto – “Everything done in moderation.”

3. Every weekend is a cheat weekend. But Mon-Fri be strict with your nutrition.

4. Have a protein shake for breakfast.

5. Be careful of high sugar content in canned foods

6. Flavor foods naturally

7. Fresh salsa is one of the best low fat food flavorings

8. Don’t skip meals. It puts your body into a starvation mode and increases the chances that more of the calories from your next meal will be stored as fat.

9. Don’t drink diet soda – it can trigger a craving for carbohydrates.

10. If you are eating out, start with the vegetable portion of your meal, then move to meat, then finally the starches.

11. Eat “The Good”, “The Bad”, then “The Ugly” foods. The trick is to make yourself full on the GOOD foods so you will eat less of the UGLY foods.

On Abdominal Exercises

12. “Crunches are a waste of time”

13. Lifting weights with exercises that target the big muscle groups (chest, back, legs & butt) is the way to get better abs.

14. The only way to truly get shredded is to have a pretty balanced diet with a nice balance of cardio, but most importantly, weight lifting.

On Working Out…

15. Cardio is over-rated – resistance training your big muscle groups is what speeds metabolism.

16. If you can’t afford a personal trainer, educate yourself on fitness. Buy a fitness magazine or book.

17. The plyometric jump squat and lunges are great for your butt.

18. Fitness is about the “Three F’s” of Function, Form & Fatigue. It’s about performing the right function back-to-back with perfect form to complete fatigue.

19. For great shoulders and arms… Do the push-up/punch combo. Start by doing as many push-ups in a row as you can. Then stand up, grab a couple of soup cans and punch one arm out, then the other, for one minute.

20. It’s not about how much time you spend in the gym. It’s about getting the most bang for your buck.

21. Swimming is great total body exercise.

22. Simplicity is key. Do not over-think your fitness routine or your diet.

On Health Insurance…

23. Less medication, more motivation.

24. High intensity training can lessen the need for sleep aids and anti-depressant medications.

bravo workout season 2 reviews

May 1st, 2007 by Fitness Guardian

Jackie Warner, Bravo WorkoutIt’s got all the ingredients for a great show:

Strong & Sexy
It’s reality based, has a strong, sexy lead persona (Jackie Warner), takes place in a cool, hip setting (Sky Sport and Spa) and addresses lifestyle, social issues (gay/lesbian lifestyle, relationship dysfunction, body image, weight loss psychology, and sadly even death and suicide)

Bravo Workout Pulled In Viewers
Bravo brought Workout back for a second season citing in a press release
headlined: BRAVO’S ‘WORK OUT’ FLEXES ITS MUSCLE WITH NEARLY ONE MILLION VIEWERS TUNING INTO TUESDAY NIGHT’S FINALE, A SERIES HIGH FOR THE DOCU-DRAMA HIT.

Season Two: Less Fitness, More?
Season one had solid reviews. So how is the show doing in its second season? Depends on what you’re looking for. My take is season 2 strays too far away from fitness material – but I’ll withhold complete judgment until the season finale…

Here’s some other opinions on the Bravo workout, Jackie Warner and Sky sport & spa crew – season two:

The only issue I had with the show is it focuses less on working out than it does on the dramatic encounters of Warner and the training staff. If I wanted to watch a show about relationship drama, I could choose from countless other reality “dramadies” that dominate the small screen. However, one does not watch “Grey’s Anatomy” primarily for the medical jargon, so perhaps I expected a bit too much on the personal training edge.

Still, “Work Out” is inspiring insofar as its overall message, which is that fit people are happy people. After I caught up on my fair share of re-runs, I was inspired to hit the gym. Although my own local haunt is nothing like Sky Sport & Spa, I still feel like a rockstar on the spin bike! – Mary, West Islip

One of the more entertaining and ‘real,’ series is Bravo’s “Workout.” Centered on SkySport & Spa Gym in Beverly Hills and owner Jackie Warner and her trainers, the show itself plays out like a show within a show.

Yes, it’s entertaining and fun, but you don’t forget for a second that these are real people with real issues and problems just like the rest of us.

Client Cardio Motivation With The EnterTrainer

September 8th, 2006 by Fitness Guardian

Here’s an innovative way to motivate a client who likes to watch T.V.  Hook the EnterTrainer up and wear its heart rate monitor to exercise while watching T.V..

Your client needs to keep their heart rate up in their target zone to keep watching.  If their heart rate drops too low –  first the T.V. sound goes off and then the T.V. shuts off completely.

Now that’s motivation!

Jackie and Mimi – Fitness Will Keep Us Together

September 6th, 2006 by Fitness Guardian

Jackie and MimiBreaking up is hard to do. Especially when you’re a personal fitness trainer. I’ve noticed those in the professional fitness game have high energy, tend to be more aggressive and seek challenge by default. Is it any wonder Jackie Warner and Mimi are back together…

After Ellen got the scoop:

AE: When I met you in July, Mimi and you were back together. Are you still?
JW:
Well, it goes off and on because she’s very angry with the show. She’s very resentful, and I personally can’t argue with her and talk about the show anymore.

AE: What happened as far as getting back together?
JW:
We just love each other. We are drawn to each other, and now it’s not about codependency; it’s truly that we both dated other people — and some people seriously. We separated twice in four and a half years for short periods of time, and I gotta tell you, we both just felt so, so off. Now you can analyze that for days — you can say codependency, you can say this, that, but whatever it is, it was very real to us, and it drove us into each other’s arms again. We are doing well right now, but it’s still tricky because of so much resentment with the show. And I’m not willing to change anymore. I’m like, “You’re going to have to deal with it; I’m sorry.â€?

AE: Mimi is younger than you and seems a lot more immature.
JW:
Yeah, well she is.

AE: The biting reminds me of a 5-year-old.
JW:
A child, sure.

AE: Has she slowed down on the biting?
JW:
Yes, she has, she definitely has. And the thing is, this has been a growing experience for both of us.

AE: Do you think there have been benefits to your relationship from this stuff being aired?
JW:
Well, yes, of course. I see that I pull away when people react to me and make me feel too much pressure. And that’s something I did a lot. … Of course our relationship has more depth and there’s a more complicated dynamic between us. And I’m not a saint, and I am definitely a jealous person too, and I definitely am a possessive person too, and I like a roller coaster ride. I like high emotions and low emotions — I need it.

AE: One really positive thing is that when you weren’t arguing, you were really affectionate with each other.
JW:
Well, we have strong chemistry; we are flabbergasted by it. I’ve had so many serious relationships; I have never had this chemistry with anybody else. And I’ve been … very much in love with beautiful women — women that are gorgeous and their bodies are just, you’re like, “Damn!â€? — and very deeply in love with them and living together, but I’ve never in my life had the chemistry that we have, and we both are like, “Geez, what is this?â€? And I think it does reflect even though we were angry with each other.

AE: It’s like fire and ice.
JW:
It is. Even when we were in Mexico, we still can’t keep our hands off each other. We cannot not look at each other and want to touch each other all the time.

AE: You said on the show you met Mimi in a painting class.
JW:
I was taking an oil painting class. I was still in my last relationship, a monogamous relationship, and I didn’t really even give it much thought. And then we met a couple of years later after my girlfriend and I had broken up, and we met at the Abbey and she was really cute and kind of came on to me — it was adorable, and a woman that has the guts to come to me is pretty ballsy. And it doesn’t happen often. A lot of women are intimidated by me and will not approach me — it’s always been a mystery to me — lesbians at least.

AE: What do you and Mimi do for fun? They never showed that.
JW:
Oh my gosh, we do so much for fun. She and I still go out once to twice a week and booze it up — we have a blast. She’s Brazilian, I’ve got American Indian and Irish in me, so we love to go out and drink with friends. We don’t really like clubs, especially bars, because it’s pretty much a meat market and it can be pretty lecherous, but I love to have dinners, and we love to both combine our friends and have big dinners and have drinks and lots of great wine, and then go out dancing still, we do that.

I just took her to Mexico; we had an amazing time, everyday was like we couldn’t believe how much fun we were having and how amazing it was. And she and I do much better when we’re alone. We have endless, endless conversations when we’re alone. And we’re way more comfortable with each other being alone. And we can sit and polish off a bottle of tequila and have 10 times the fun than if we go to a bar, just by ourselves. So that says a lot.

AE: They never mentioned it on Work Out, but I’ve heard that Mimi is a trainer too.
JW:
She’s a trainer at another gym. Yeah, I don’t mix business with pleasure anymore.

AE: Did she used to work in the same gym as you?
JW:
Yeah, I hired her ages ago, and I’ve done that with other girlfriends and it never ends up well. A girlfriend, a husband, a wife, a boyfriend should never be writing [their] significant other’s paycheck. Never be signing them. … The power structure is askew and it makes for resentment on both sides.
